Five individuals, including Henry Segura, Ashley Colton, Kirsten Trussler (his wife), Amy Granger (an armed forces member), and Samuel Brown (a Fairfax County Police officer), swiftly responded, administering CPR and utilizing an AED until EMS arrived, ultimately saving his life. Recognizing their heroic efforts, Assistant Chief Shaw of Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department presented them with the Departments Lifesaving Award. Tony Washington, a security guard at the bar, witnessed the event, called 911, and performed CPR using skills learned in high school until EMS crews arrived. Both received SaveMIHeart challenge coins and accolades from EMS crews and doctors at Detroit Medical Center Sinai-Grace Hospital for their heroic actions in saving Ballards life. Fortunately, a quick-thinking 16-year-old Oak Hills High School student found him and initiated CPR before first responders arrived, ultimately saving his life. Babinec expressed profound gratitude to the responders, acknowledging the ripple effect their actions had on his family and friends. You didnt just save my life, Babinec told first responders.
