What Survivors Are Saying
CASA has offered me a lot of comfort,
knowledge and connections. It’s been
very helpful to connect with those who
share similar experiences.
Also, as we travel on this journey new
challenges sometimes come up and it’s
great knowing that I can reach out to
others who are part of CASA. Thank you
for providing this group for all of us.
I believe the first time I really
comprehended what had happened was
after I started reading information
from CASA. I agree it can be lonely
not having anyone who can relate to
your situation. Zooming, listening, and
reading about others’ situations makes
you feel less alone.
Finding others who have experienced an
SCA has created a sense of belonging
for a unique group of people who have
shared the trauma and struggles of
survivorship.
CASA also collaborates with researchers to share post-resuscitation study opportunities with members,
helping bridge ongoing research. In fall 2025, a community-wide survey identified trends, experiences,
and needs, informing future programming and outreach.
Looking ahead to 2026, CASA will expand targeted outreach while continuing to enhance educational and
support resources, as well as improve referral pathways for those impacted by sudden cardiac arrest.
The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation is grateful for the continued support of the American Heart
Association, Boston Scientific, and Medtronic for the CASA program.
Visit casahearts.org for more information, and please refer individuals and families impacted by sudden
cardiac arrest to the CASA community.
